FollowSight – User Documentation
FollowSight is a mobile application designed for professional followspot operators and lighting technicians. It also includes a toolset for positioning the SpotMe system by Robert Juliat.

SpotMe Setup Assistant
- This tool does not connect directly to SpotMe. It assists setup based on documented calibration procedures.
- In order to calibrate SpotMe, you have to define a rectangle on stage. SpotMe Assistant allows you to calculate the lengths of the rectangle easily and quicly.
- Then just follow the instructions on screen.
Parallax and Viewfinder Accuracy
Parallax occurs when the iPhone is slightly offset from the projector’s optical axis. This can cause a small misalignment between the camera view and the actual light beam.
At long distances (e.g. 50 meters), a typical offset of 15–20 cm results in very minimal error, usually less than 10 pixels, which is visually negligible.
However, when using zoom, this effect becomes more noticeable. The narrower the field of view, the more amplified the parallax appears.
Tip: For best accuracy, position the iPhone as close to the projector’s axis as possible—without blocking the light. Manual correction is available in the app.
How to Use
- Open FollowSight and grant camera access
- Choose or import a reticle
- Position and lock the reticle
- Zoom the camera view
- Use SpotMe Assistant if needed
